Julie has written two literary thrillers for Bloomsbury – LITTLE NOTHINGS, a story of a female friendships gone bad on the Greek island of Corfu, and IMPOSSIBLE CAUSES centring on four teenage girls accused of witchcraft on a remote British enclave.
Her four Carnegie-nominated titles for Young Adults are: 18th century love story THE ELECTRICAL VENUS, Russian saga MOTHER TONGUE, award-winning alt-history THE BIG LIE and her debut RED INK, which was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award.
Her non-fiction work-in-progress THE ONE AND ONLY MABEL POULTON is supported by an Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant and a Silvers Grant from the New York Review of Books.
