From Peterborough to Cannes
My original comedy feature Don’t Mention The War has been nominated for the third annual Wscripted Cannes Screenplay List in association with Mubi.
The script – an Anglo-German romcom that tackles false nostalgia and the legacy of Brexit, set in Peterborough and Berlin – features on a 12-strong list which was announced at this year’s 76th Cannes Film Festival.
Wscripted was launched in 2021 by Ellie Jamen with the aim of matching female storytellers with decision-makers. The all-female jury for the Cannes list were Mounia Meddour (Papicha, Houria), Funa Maduka (Waiting for Hassana) and Camille Griffin (Silent Night).
Congratulations to my fellow nominees!
