Another Nod For Melon
Red Ink has been long-listed for the prestigious Branford Boase Award.
The award is made annually for the most promising book for seven-year-olds and upwards by a first time novelist, and its previous winners include Annabel Pitcher, Jenny Downham, Marcus Sedgwick and Meg Rosoff.
The award recognises the work of both the author and the editor in identifying and nurturing talent, so I am nominated alongside my cracking Hot Key Books editor Emily Thomas.
This is the second award nod for Red Ink, following its nomination for the CILIP Carnegie Medal in November.
The shortlist for the Branford Boase will be drawn up in the Spring. Keep ’em crossed!
